Boxoft Screen OCR

This is a software tool that captures screen and is able to OCR the text present in that capture to convert them into editable text.

Faced with a problem of copy restricted document, such as a read only PDF, one of the things that could be done is to capture an image of the page on screen and then OCR convert the text into editable text. This tool lets you do just that. Alternative is to get hold of a software that can remove the copy restriction. Either way whenever you copy material you should be aware that you could easily get into copyright violation situations. You should be absolutely clear about the legality of the situation. These then can be taken into any word processing program and edited, included into other documents etc.

You could, of course use the built-in editor that the software program provides. This editor lets you do simple edits such as cut, copy, delete, paste and so on. The text capture can be done from any part of the screen. The type of document being displayed does not pose any constraint at all, they could be images to start with or PDF, web pages, program dialog windows etc. The interface could not be any simpler! You choose the language, select the area on screen with the select tool and get it "OCR"ed. the program is compatible with Windows 2000/2003/XP/Vista/7. Quite a handy tool there`s a hotkey shortcut available too.
